Search “aluminium deodorant” and you will find two camps, both yelling.
One says it causes everything up to and including male pattern baldness. The other says it is completely fine and you are an idiot for asking.
Here is the version with the volume turned down.
WHAT ALUMINIUM ACTUALLY DOES
Aluminium salts plug your sweat ducts.
That is the whole mechanism. Less sweat reaches the surface, so there is less for bacteria to work with. It is genuinely effective, which is why it is in nearly every antiperspirant on the shelf.
SO WHY GO WITHOUT
Not because we are about to tell you it is dangerous.
The evidence on that is not settled, and we are not going to pretend it is just because it would help us sell deodorant.
Two better reasons.
One: the yellow stains. Those patches on the armpits of your white shirts are aluminium reacting with sweat and fabric. Not dirt. You cannot wash them out, because they are not dirt. Take the aluminium out and they stop happening.
Two: blocking is not the only option. You can go after the smell instead of stopping the sweat, and let your armpits get on with the job they were hired to do.
WHAT YOU GET INSTEAD
Charcoal powder and tapioca starch, with sodium bicarbonate and magnesium hydroxide to deal with odour at the source.
Aluminium free. Paraben free. 98% of ingredients derived from natural origin.
The full list is on every product page. Go and read it. We are not hiding anything in there.
THE TRADE OFF, HONESTLY
You will still sweat.
If you want a product that stops perspiration, you want an antiperspirant, and you should go and buy one. No hard feelings.
If you want to not smell, and you would like your shirts to make it past summer, this is the one.
